Grupo Candeias founded as SESC Club in the university sector in 1977 in Goiania, Goias, Brazil. Called Grupo de Capoeira Anglo Regional, first teacher Carlos Antonio (carlinhos chuchu).
1978 new teacher Mestre Passarinho, rename: Grupo de Capoeira Sao Beno Pequeno. I left and took on some students. New local teacher: Mestre Suino (Grupo de Capoeira Anglo Regional).
1991 unification of all factions
1992 all groups went under name Grupo Candeias de Capoeira
